Tuesday morning, afternoon and overnight brought storms — some severe — through Minnesota. Wednesday could bring more of the same. Golf ball sized hail pelted a family’s home as a result of a spring storm which brought lighting, rain and hail to the area on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

The largest report of hail on May 16, 2017 near Inver Grove Heights, Woodbury, Lake Elmo and South Saint Paul was 1.75 inches. We estimate that 42,000 buildings were in the affected area and the probability of hail detected was significant.
