Lakeville, MN Hail Storm – New Elko Hail Storm – 6/21/2015

Hail Storm season has arrived and has been busy these last few weeks. A large hail storm moved through the Lakeville – New Elko Market area on June 21 2015 raining down hail stones the size of ping pong balls.

Trained spotters in the Lakeville area saw hail ranging from 1 inch to 1.75 iches in diameter. Hail this size has the potential to damage cars, boats, and even homes if struck at a high velocity. The hail stones were powered by a west wind of up to 65 mph that lasted for nearly three minutes. It is possible that your property was damaged during this short span of time, but how can you tell???
