I had water seeping into my basement two summers in a row. I scheduled a free estimate the same week of the issue and Heidi came out and inspected the issue right away and came up with a plan within minutes. My downspout was moved the next week with water feeding into my yard rather than my basement. No rain during this past rainstorm. Couldn’t be happier!

We had Stinson out to give us a quote on cleaning our cedar shake roof. They came out for a brief meeting and told us they would have a quote to us within a couple of days. After two weeks of waiting we called the company to ask where the quote was. They took our information again, and told us that we would have the quote shortly. 48 hours later and still nothing. Meanwhile, we are getting inundated with companies soliciting us for roof cleanings. It appears they don't want the job but instead sold our information. We have never had something like this happen before, definitely would not recommend.

I received excellent information about gutter guards and gutter systems from Stinson’s sales rep, Jeff Vacanti. Jeff’s knowledge was especially valuable because he has seen so many houses and he has a good understanding of what gutter products work best. Jeff answered all the questions I’d prepared ahead of time regarding gutters, and his on-site survey to decide what gutter guard would work best was very helpful. Additionally, Hector, also from Stinson, came out and helped us with an immediate problem. Hector came out to the house promptly; and he quickly and efficiently repaired an issue with our existing gutters. So, whether it’s a small or large improvement, Stinson’s team is prepared to handle it, and Stinson Services has proven to be a good company for gutter work.

Had some discolored icicles hanging from the roof so called to have someone check it out. The Stinson team was very responsive, sent Hector out to take a look. He checked out the roof and the attic and gave me some good information and took the time to explain what he was seeing and inform me that my insulation looked good and no frost, etc. I was very happy with the response, concern for my issue, and the follow up. this company replaced my neighbor's roof and, in so doing, left many nails, and at least a piece of wood in my yard. in addition ,they destroyed my side garden by breaking two sumac plants and a pagoda dogwood. they refuse to reimburse me the cost of the plants and the labor to replace them. instead they offered to pay my landscaper, whom i have already paid, or to issue me a gift card to a landscaping company of their choosing. simply put, the workers treated my yard like their personal garbage can! all i asked for was $175: the cost of the dogwood alone, at gerten's, is $99.99 and my landscaper spent two hours doing the work, for which he charges $50 per hour.

Tom was thorough and took over 40 photos of my roof and Heidi walked me around the house to show me what to look for in identifying hail damage. Luckily no damage was found. Both were great to work will and they’ll be the first roofers I reach out to should the need arise.

The team (Dave and Hector) made the process so easy from dealing with insurance all the way through the completion of the project and the clean up afterwards. This year we were having issues with birds making a home in our vents and we didn’t know who else to call so we called Stinson again. Even though the issues was due to no fault of the work they had done, Hector came and fixed the issue and helped add extra screens to prevent the issue from happening again. If you ever need roofing and siding repair with an awesome team and service we would highly recommend Stinson and Hector’s team!

They were referred by a friend and were prompt in responding during a busy reroofing season. They worked with our insurance firm ironing out details of the claim, making it a smooth process. They were not able to keep to the timeline they originally projected due to the unavailability of the shingles we specified, which matched the shingles they were replacing. We didn’t want to settle for a less attractive, less durable shingle. Stinson Services searched the country to find them and brought them in from California. Perhaps if they searched for the shingles at the time the contract was signed, it would have reduced any delays. The actual project took less than a day. They had a large knowledgeable polite crew. It was a windy day but they still kept the debris to a minimum and cleaned up the site. Our roof was done well before the snow season and looks great. Nice job Stinson!

I noted when doing yard clean up that the slate roof had been broken as many pieces were on the ground surrounding the home's perimeter. Initially consulted a contractor doing work across the street however when adjuster came he was late and distracted spending most of his time texting on his phone. After declining the claim I consulted a friend who is an insurance agent and he suggested Stinson Services. Dave Brechon arrived on time and thoroughly inspected the roof confirming what I had noted with broken pieces of slate and obvious denting of copper gutters and two skylights cladding. He left full of information he documented and did research on the storm that hit our area. Prior to submitting he updated me on what he had assembled and modified after taking input from us also noting numerous options we had in material options. We decided to replace with the slate since the roof is such a prominent part of our home. He updated us as the process as it was resubmitted with proper documentation. Attention to detail by Dave helped in the approval to get replaced. Next was Stinson assembling the A-team crew for the replacement. All workers were courteous, industrious, and competent from tear off to final clean up. I have received so many compliments from people walking by. I can't say enough how glad I was to get Stinson involved and selecting as our roofing contractor. I can best summarize if you care about the quality and believe in doing things the right way then Stinson Services is an excellent choice for your home. Very pleased with process and results.+3

They came out and inspected everything visually and with a drone to highlight all the spots that there was damage, they then coordinated with my insurance adjuster to come back and meet together and ensure they were both on the same page. Once the claim had been fully vetted and accepted the process picking the products, consulting with the foremen and scheduling was underway and they were able to complete everything in a timely manner. They ended up replacing our roof, fascia, and gutters and it looks great. The crews were all very professional and cleaned up after themselves nicely.

Shrubs were tarped with care, showing a level of care uncommon to other projects. Circled back a couple days later, asked the homeowner how they felt about the work, he raved. At all stages the team was prompt, professional and courteous. Debris was fully picked up with care including those pesky roof nails. Great work, highly recommend.

The three quotes were between $12K to 14.5K for a modestly sized 1.5 story home in Minneapolis. Stinson was the highest quote, but their sales person Tom was friendly, confident, and had a plan for the ice dam problem we faced. I felt Stinson had a good reputation in the area - so I verbally committed to Stinson. Several weeks later when they came by for a walk-through and asked to review the Insurance agency's documentation. Tom all of a sudden felt he underestimated the size of the roof by 7 square (***700 square feet***). Mind you - Stinson charges ~$650/square. Our pricing estimate went from $14.5K to $20K - after I had sent the other roofing contractors away and it was approaching the end of the roofing season. Feeling pressed for time, I felt I didn't have a choice. I sat down with Tom, and we negotiated a middle ground of $18K - still dramatically higher than the original estimate. The roof went up in a timely fashion and the crew was great. I have no reason to believe they didn't do quality work, but that doesn't make up for the bait and switch feeling I am left with (not to mention a palate with 3 square of extra material (that I paid for) which was sitting on my sidewalk upon completion of the job and picked up by Stinson a week later.

Not an easy fix for a senior citizen. I called Stinson Services and Heidi answered on the second ring (RARE). I explained my problem and Heidi said "take a couple of photos and I'll get you a price quote for the work". She immediately sent me a job estimate and after I agreed to have them do the work, she arranged to have Hector come out the NEXT day (RARER). Hector replaced the old cap with a new one and showed me a photo of the work performed. He gave me his card, and told me to let him know if I need jobs done around the house in the future. After multiple hail storms in Bloomington, our insurance adjuster kept saying we had minimal hail damage and tried to close our claim. I called out Stinson Services and the consultant (Dave) found all sorts of hail damage, and not just to my roof. He also showed me how my roof decking gaps were unsuitable for shingle replacement. He arranged another site inspection with a team of adjusters on our roof; showed them all the evidence of damage; and we obtained coverage for full replacement of our roof decking, shingles, skylights, and gutters. I was impressed when the crew (led by Hector) came out ahead of time to meet and ask us about the care of our property, pets, etc. They worked a long day, were timely and professional, and repaired our old, sagging garage roof before installing new shingles. They even sent a skilled master carpenter (Brent) to ensure the new skylights looked perfect from the inside. I steered them to three other satisfied neighbors from now on, we will call Stinson Services first!

The gentleman sat down with us and discussed what was needed. We had a quote shortly after that and the information was sent directly to our insurance company. The work was scheduled to be done in a timely manner and only took 2 days to complete once it was started. All of the insurance contact was also done by Stinson. I would highly recommend Stinson. Stinson Services recently completed a roofing project at my home. My suburb had seen some hail back in the summer of 2020. As Stinson has done a fair amount of work in my immediate neighborhood, I asked for a roof inspection. After getting positive feedback from Dave at Stinson that my roof did in fact show signs of damage, I was urged to schedule a visit from my insurance adjuster. Dave spent an extended time up on the roof with the adjuster, on what was a brutally hot & humid summer day. This initial visit set the wheels in motion for a few additional cooperative visits between Dave and the insurance adjuster that eventually facilitated a partial insurance settlement for a new roof. Stinson was able to ultimately re-roof my home for what I believe was a reasonable out-of-pocket dollar amount beyond the insurance contribution. Thanks to Dave for the time and effort on my behalf. The roofing job itself occurred on the exact date promised. Hector, the Project Manager, had his roofing crew work efficiently to complete the project in a single day and also made enhancements to the roof's venting system. The workers cleaned up after the project and left the immediate areas adjacent to the house in good order. Throughout the process, I found all the folks at Stinson to excel in crystal clear communication. All contact with company representatives was positive and professional. Our new roof looks wonderful and the completed job adds significant curb appeal to our home. The final quality of the Stinson roofing project exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend the company to anyone interested in a roofing update, or any other home improvement that Stinson might be able to help with.

Finally, it happened! Someone took the 5 minutes needed and actually completed the job. On a follow up call, credit to them, they admitted they dropped the ball. Fair enough. However, in an apparent attempt to rectify situation the gentleman assured me they have a great reputation. As if that meant anything to me after almost two months. Essentially, if they can't handle the basics promptly and professionally, they shouldn't get your job. **Update to the response below: this is a gross misrepresentation of the phone call. I stand by my review.

Stinson has a professional process for providing estimates and paying invoices all via email, and a customer service representative to help move things along. The holes were patched with material that matches my soffit color, and you can't tell where they were. However, the service was not ideal. I was not kept well-informed of when the work would be completed or what the total cost was projected to be. It took several visits and two months from the estimate for the job to be completed, and I had to check in several times to find out what was going on. At one point someone came, took the tape off of one of the holes (exposing it to wildlife, etc.) and left some of it on the ground, did not complete the repair, left a metal soffit panel leaning against the house, and departed without saying anything, calling, texting, etc. Then, after I bugged Stinson to finish the job and they completed the work, I received an invoice that was nearly double the estimate, $1,200 instead of $700, without warning or explanation. Labor for patching two holes/gap areas and fixing a piece of trim was $900 and was not broken down hourly like it was in the estimate. When I pushed back I found out $200 of the materials cost should not have been billed, but still no hourly breakdown for the $900 in labor. Overall I would not use Stinson again due to my experience, but it may be a different story getting a full roof put on etc.

They were extremely communicative during the entire process, they helped us navigate all the hoops with insurance so that process wasn't complicated to follow, and their work was very professional. We needed an old, leaky, no-longer-in-use furnace exhaust removed, a leaky sewer vent sealed up, and a loose bathroom fan vent that was pumping steam into our attic reattached. Stinson sent out Brent to do the job, and we are so incredibly grateful they did! Brent was professional, personable, knowledgeable, talented, and clearly explained everything he was doing. He kept in constant contact with me to keep us up-to-date on the timeline, and I never felt left in the dark about when the job would get done. (I was also a complete nervous wreck about our roof/attic when he first came out, and he took the time to answer and address my millions of questions and concerns, which cooled down my nerves.) We've always liked Stinson, but Brent is truly a great asset to the Stinson team, and he's sealed the deal for us--now, we will ALWAYS choose Stinson! He exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond to make sure everything was done right and that the right materials were used (whoever put the roof together before about 15 years ago cut corners, which is what led to the leaking), and I feel so relieved knowing that things have finally been done right. I've had so many sketchy experiences with contractors in the past, but Stinson breaks the mold. They are honest-to-goodness great contractors, and I would recommend them to everybody.

Stinson let me keep the cost down by letting me purchase the materials and do the clean up of the old boards removed from the deck. In one day, Luke replaced the boards that probably would have taken me the better part of a summer to do. His skilled labor was well worth the reasonable price we negotiated. He even did follow up later and stopped by to fix a couple little things I had noticed. I highly recommend Stinson for any of your construction projects around the house.

Stinson did my cousins home (roof, siding) in 2017. We love to refer them as they always come up big. Worked with my insurance company and was aggressive at getting my roof done and covered. Initially my insurance only felt I had minor damage, Stinson met them at my house twice and was able to get my entire roof covered. Mike was great as my main contact, as was the entire crew.

After reviewing several reviews on siding companies in the area, we found Stinson Services. From day one, it was like too good to be true My wife was impressed with the courteous and timely responses from their office staff. We met with Stinson and three other contractors and Stinson was by far the most knowledgeable. Not only were they able to schedule us much sooner than other contractors but their knowledge of working with insurance companies was very helpful. The job started on the scheduled date and was just completed Friday, September 27th. A special thanks to Xiao, who was assigned to complete the work on our home. He showed up every day and started at 8 a.m and worked all day (luckily the weather cooperated for us). If we could rate Stinson with 10 stars, we would. We will be highly recommending them to friends and family for any future projects. Thanks to Heidi, Mike and the rest of the Stinson Team for helping us through the process. We love our "new" home.

We had a very odd angled house and were very please with the quality of work and crew that did the gutters. We thought we found a great contractor to help us with so much more work on our house: windows, doors, roof, siding, deck, etc. Fast forward to 2016 and attempting to get estimates for a full house window & door replacement. We had to follow up multiple times to get our quote with no response, once we got the quote is was very vague; no information on the brands, warranty, etc. I attempted to follow up but did not hear any responses. This would have been a $50K project. I did email our disappointment to Stinson as I referred numerous friends and neighbors to them for their quality gutter work. A few weeks after I emailed our disappointment I FINALLY received an email from the original sales person, MONTHS after our initial review of our windows. He apologized for our disappointment, which I thought was nice, until the owner of the company responded all to his response vs. just to the sales person. I learned the company is not quit the professional, quality company I had hoped for.

There is a small open "porch" outside my front door. The contractor replaced gutters on the roof of the porch. A painting contractor who worked on my house following the installation of the gutters informed me that there was standing water in the gutter over the front stairs. They also installed the downspout to empty onto a walk near the front stairs which would cause the water to pool or freeze directly on the walk to the stairs. I called my roofer and they came to correct the pitch for the gutter and repositioned the downspout to empty away from the walk. Over the weekend I was cleaning leaves from the gutters and on the side of the house. The pitch of the gutter was angled AWAY from the downspout causing leaves and water to pool in a corner of the gutter. On that same gutter, there were two straps that were not nailed down. I again called the roofer suggesting that maybe they wouldn't want this contractor doing their gutters for them if the very basic principles of proper installation were not followed. Gutters should not be holding water. I had TWO that did. Tomorrow the roofer is going to return to secure the straps and properly pitch the gutter. My roofer responded immediately to both the calls I made regarding the gutters and I am very happy with their work. I don't name them here because this issue is not directly their fault but they were prompt and apologetic regarding correcting the problem.

We did complete the gutter work on your property and they were installed according to the gutter spec sheet we received from your roofing contractor. We spoke with the roofing contractor when they were on site completing repairs on your property after the gutter work had been completed and were under the impression that they would be able to repitch the gutter to drain in a better manner. Your porch has settled and this lead to a difficult installation of the gutters due to the fact that the fascia would not allow for the gutter installation to occur in an aesthetically pleasing manner, this was discussed with you on site during the installation and I’m not sure why it was an issue after the fact. The straps not being secured is directly our issue and the installer responsible will be notified of the error. In closing, we completed the installation as directed, were under the impression that the roofing company was taking care of the repair and that the issue had been resolved. We were notified about the issue after the fact, agreed to come back and complete the repair ourselves but were informed that it had been resolved. I could understand leaving a negative review if the circumstances were different but your concerns were addressed and we were accountable. I thought the estimate was high but we were selling our house and just did not have time to continue getting bids from other contractors. I set up a date for the service and no one showed up. I called to find out when my service person would be coming and was told that they had overlooked or somehow forgot to schedule it and were currently on another job. I should have cancelled the job then but as I said, we were desperate to get this work completed because the city inspector was due to sign off on our inspection report. Our house closing was coming up shortly. I rescheduled and had to wait another week for a person show up. It took him about 5 minutes to snap the flashing back on. The estimator had said this was going to be a big job because they would have to take up the roofing shingles, etc. I questioned him at the time about this since I could see that the flashing had been attached to metal knobs that surrounded the window. The workman who came to do the job even joked about the high bid saying that all he had to do was get on the roof and snap it back on. He didn't even have to use a latter, he was able to just get on the garage from the deck railing and walk over to the window. I called Stinson and complained about the price of the job. They took off $50 from the bid but said that $325 was their starting rate for any job and the estimator should have told me. Needless to say, I will not be using this company again.

The work was completed in a professional manner and with the appropriate materials. The duration of the repair was minimal but the research into the proper materials and purchasing of these materials is incorporated into our fee. We charge a standard minimum charge for all repair projects and in addition we gave you a discount off of that charge so I'm unsure on why you are complaining about the cost. They removed sheetrock at the floor truss area in the garage to discover that the insulation in that area was not installed properly when the house was built. The insulation was at the bottom of the truss, leaving an air gap between the house floor and the insulation where the cold air was getting in. They applied additional foam insulation around the outside perimeter area of the floor trusses and in addition, they added spray foam under the tub. They were very quick to respond to my concerns of the cold penetration that remained, and they went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied and that the issue with the cold was resolved. It is two years later and I have not had any feeling of cold in the area of the house that is above the garage. He came out on time, took pictures of additional issues we had with our roof and gutters, and worked with the insurance company on the details. We didn't want the dumpster in the driveway for very long - so they placed it in the perfect spot and it was gone within two days. The guys showed up right on time the day for the roof to be installed and finished it in a day. They cleaned up everything when they were done and the roof looks fantastic. High quality shingles with 30 year warranty. Also it has rained several times since the roof was replaced and we haven't had problems with water flowing over the gutters or under the gutters - because Ryan and his team did a great job reattaching them. For the front door I wanted a finished door with a different color on each side. They said there was no such thing. I found two different brands that make them. They ordered all the doors. I was told it would take 6 weeks to get the doors and have them all installed. The front door was ordered and installed with the wrong glass. The back storm door was installed, but it too was the wrong door (in fact it was the same as the one they took off). The front storm door was installed back wards and was at least a foot short of the frame. We asked them to order the right glass for the front door. Two weeks later they called to ask if we still wanted them to order it or would we accept this one for less money. We had to call them back to adjust the front door. The lock would not line up. This happened twice. Each time they walked away from the project and asked for their money, even though they had not completed the job to our satisfaction. It took about a year to get it to the point where I gave them all their money. Then it took a long time to get the lien waiver from them. Nothing they do is done on time. Quality control is non-existent.

THIS CLIENT WAS AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. NOT ONLY ARE HER CLAIMS FALSE, SHE DID NOT PAY US FOR THE WORK WE HAD COMPLETED FOR OVER 6 MONTHS. EVERY TIME WE REQUESTED THE PAYMENT SHE WOULD COME UP WITH SOME EXCUSE REGARDING A NEW ISSUE THAT CAME UP REGARDING THE PROJECT THAT THEY STATED WAS COMPLETED. TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF HOW IT WAS TO WORK WITH THIS CLIENT I WILL REFER TO ONE OF THE MANY ISSUES THAT SHE BROUGHT UP ONCE THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED. THE FRONT STORM DOOR WAS INSTALLED OVER THE ENTRY DOOR WE INSTALLED. THE ENTRY DOOR HAD BRIGHT BRASS HARDWARE AS WELL AS BRASS PLATING ON THE GLASS. THE STORM DOOR THAT WAS INSTALLED ALSO HAD BRASS PLATING ON THE EDGES. AFTER THE STORM DOOR WAS INSTALLED SHE TOLD US THAT THE PLATING NEEDED TO BE WHITE? THIS WAS AFTER WE SELECTED ALL BRASS HARDWARE FOR THE ENTRY DOOR. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THIS ISSUE WAS RESOLVED BY US BUYING A NEW STORM DOOR AND INSTALLING IT FREE OF CHARGE. WE ALSO BOUGHT NEW GLASS FOR THE ENTRY DOOR AND INSTALLED THAT FREE OF CHARGE. HERE IS A COPY OF THE FINAL LETTER I HAD TO SEND SO THAT MY COMPANY COULD GET THE FINAL PAYMENT! FIRST OFF I WANT TO EXPRESS MY DISAPPOINTMENT WITH THE PAYMENT PROCESS FOR YOUR PROJECT. WE COMPLETED THE PROJECT TO YOUR APPROVAL AND GETTING THE FINAL PAYMENT HAS BEEN A RIDICULOUS EXPERIENCE. I WOULD ACTUALLY SAY THAT THIS IS THE WORST COLLECTION PROCESS I HAVE ENDURED SINCE I STARTED MY COMPANY IN AUGUST OF 2003! MANY TIMES YOU HAVE VERBALLY INFORMED ME THAT YOU WOULD BE SENDING THE FINAL PAYMENT IN THE MAIL, BUT TO MY DISAPPOINTMENT IT HAS NEVER ARRIVED. AS YOU KNOW RUNNING A BUSINESS MEANS THAT YOU HAVE MANY FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES. BY HAVING TO FLOAT OVER $2000.00 FOR THIS AMOUNT OF TIME IT HAS CAUSED ME MANY PROBLEMS. I WILL EXPECT THE FINAL PAYMENT TO ARRIVE AT OUR ADDRESS BY JUNE 20TH, 2008. IF I DO NOT RECEIVE THE PAYMENT I WILL LOOK INTO FILING A LIEN AGAINST YOUR PROPERTY!Load more
