Minnesota Storm Hits – June 21, 2013 – Hail & Wind Damage

The Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area was hit by a large thunderhead on June 21st, 2013. The first night of summer brought heavy winds up to 73 miles per hour near Buffalo, MN. Other areas like Eden Prairie and Lake Elmo experienced wind speeds around 55 miles per hour.These winds were powerful enough to knock down power lines and trees in the effected area.

There were reports of half-inch hail in Burnsville, MN and .88 inch hail in the Eagan area. These have yet to be certified by the National Weather Service but should be in the next 24 hours. Click for more information on hail damage or to check out our latest MN hail maps.
